I'm intrigued by the gorgeously colorful recycled sweater coats that I have seen on etsy lately. I found a couple of old sweaters and decided to give repurposing them a try. My teen daughter plays violin and loves these type of fingerless gloves for warming up her hands. Amazingly, the fingers don't stay cold. They are warmed as well even though not covered. As a benefit, she can actually play while wearing these.
The green and pink gloves are a lambswool argyle sweater that has been felted, cut up and resewed. They turned out a bit tight. The felted material doesn't stretch much. But I really like the look of them.
The orange and brown pair are made from two cotton cardigan sweaters. They are much lighter weight and looser than the wool pair, but perhaps that's better for Spring.
Next I want to try a restyled sweater or dress. I'll have to head to the thrift store and see what I can find.
