Housework - Home Improvements

Everyone is resting easy at our house as my daughters scans were clear last week with no signs of cancer! With all of that happy energy, we got on with some home projects. We like to do everything ourselves around here. First, we find we have to because we are broke. And second, we like it done "our way."

Our garden is ready to grow after borrowing the neighbors roto-tiller. We're hoping to get a good harvest of healthy food!

Laika (our dog) made it possible for Ingrid to have new floor (via some gastrointestinal problems one evening). It was an unexpected expense for us to undertake, but there was no way that I was going get that mess out of the carpet. I really wanted her to have a "clean" room. So...

So many staples to pull! Ugh!

Bamboo flooring. Less expensive than carpeting or wood, as good looking as wood, more ecofriendly. It only takes 4 years for bamboo to be considered "old growth".

Did I ever show you my SOCKS?

Here they are. Just perfect for today. I'm feeling rather cashed. Everyday this week I have traipsed down to the hospital with my little girl for tests. Today it is cool outside and over cast. I really wanted to sleep in. We are back home now and it is the perfect time to put my feet up, slip on these cozy socks and do some surfin'! I knit these a while back, simultaneously on two sets of double pointed needles. My first pair, and I really enjoy them. And while I'm braggin' about my knit goods, guess who else is getting cozy in my knits and enjoying some down time with playmobil?

That's right.

Meanwhile, we are waiting for this one to get home from camp! 2 1/2 days without her has been tough! I can't wait for her to get home!

Bless You, Bless You, Happy, Happy Girl!

She is a happy, happy girl!
She just completed treatment, 14 chemotherapies and 45 radiation treatments! Now she is off treatment! Woo hoo! What a beautiful smile!

Thumbs up! Way to go! Welcome home! You did it!
